Legislative Videoconferences Begin Next Tuesday:
The Chamber’s Governmental Affairs
Committee will host the legislative session’s first videoconference next
Tuesday, January 16 at 7:00 AM in the Chamber’s lower level conference room. The videoconferences give members of the Governmental Affairs
Committee the opportunity to engage in real-time discussion with local state legislators. The conferences are free to attend and are open to Chamber members and non-members.

Fix Colorado Roads Act:
The 2018 Legislative
Session began Wednesday, and state legislators are already hard at work setting their agendas for the 120-day session. One of the first measures to be introduced was SB18-001, or the “Fix Colorado Roads Acts”. If passed the measure,
introduced by Republican Senators Baumgardner and Cooke, would appear before voters on their 2018
ballots and would authorize the state to issue more transportation
revenue anticipation notes (bonds), without an increase in taxes. To read the full bill text, click

State of the State:
On Thursday, Governor Hickenlooper delivered his eighth and final State of the State address. In his address, Hickenlooper reflected on his past seven years in office and also outlined his agenda for his final term as Governor of Colorado. Hickenlooper spoke at length about the Gallagher
Amendment and its affects on K-12 funding. Addressing the impacts of the Gallagher Amendment has long been on the top of the Governor’s agenda. For more information on the State of the State address, click
