U.S. Senator Cory Gardner to Hold Conference Call:
Senator Cory Gardner will be holding a conference call for Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce members on Monday, March 23rd at 11:00am. During the conference call Senator Gardner will provide an update on legislation the Senate is working on, as well as hear from local business owners regarding their needs during this difficult and unusual time.

SBA Loans Now Available in Colorado:
|
On Thursday, Governor Polis announced that Colorado’s application for federal disaster area designation has been approved. Small businesses in Colorado that have been impacted by COVID-19 can now apply for individual small business loans up to $2 million as a part of the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Small businesses in all 64 counties can apply for the loans.

Trumps Signs Coronavirus Relief Legislation:
|
On Thursday morning, President Trump signed the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” into law. The multi-billion-dollar relief package allows for more flexibility for states in determining Unemployment Insurance compensation, and requires that employers provide up to two weeks of paid sick leave and three months of paid family and medical leave for COVID-19 related absences. Each quarter, employers will receive a fully-refundable tax credit for the wages paid, up to $511 a day for 10 days or $200 a day if the leave is to care for family members.

U.S. Senate Working on Third COVID Bill:
The U.S. is currently working on a third COVID response bill. While the bill is still in the works, lawmakers have stated that the initial plan would appropriate $300 billion for small business interruption loans, that would potentially cover six weeks of payroll for employees. Lawmakers are also looking into direct payments for taxpayers based on family size and income level.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Approves Jordan Cove Project:
|

|
Yesterday, Federal regulators approved the Jordan Cove LNG project in Coos Bay, Oregon, along with the 230-mile Pacific Connector Pipeline, which will bring natural gas from Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico basins to Malin, Oregon. This is the first time that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has authorized an LNG export terminal on the West Coast.
